Hi, I’m YAS, the founder of The Digimom, and my story is one of resilience, transformation, and the pursuit of a better life for my family.

For years, I worked as a job order employee for the local government unit. I gave my all, went to countless interviews, and knew I aced every one of them. Yet, I kept facing the harsh reality of a system that hired based on connections, not credentials. It was frustrating and disheartening, leading me into a deep depression. I knew I needed a change.

That change came when my third son almost died of sepsis. My family and I made the tough decision that I would work from home, so I could be there for my children. With nothing more than a low-end desktop, I googled everything I could about online work. My journey began as a virtual assistant, managing Twitter accounts for clients. But then Typhoon Ondoy struck, and my client disappeared, leaving me and many others without work.

I didn’t give up. I applied for all kinds of online jobs—admin assistant, project manager, SEO, social media manager, you name it. I even took multiple courses to sharpen my skills, but with so many clients and roles, I found myself stretched thin. Job security felt like a distant dream. I had become a jack of all trades, but it wasn’t enough.
